transynd tranny fluid

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else experience that the trans seems to run hotter with the transynd synthetic tranny fluid? At about 50K miles I had a Detroit diesel/Allision shop flush and refill with the Transynd tranny fluid. When pulling my 20K lb. 5th wheel up the same hills as previously done, the trans temp is about 20 deg. higher, but still within the safe range. I though the Transynd was supposed to run cooler. Fluid levels are right on. Would appreciate any input on this.

You may want to check with the shop that did the flush to make sure they put the synthetic in it, and what they think the problem is...Or you can have the fluid tested...I would also check the cooler lines to make sure one did'nt get kinked..... just a thought

Out of curiousity what did that flush/fill on the Allison cost??

Hi Bigdog

I had it done at a Detroit disel/Allision shop in Kent , Wash, and I think It was $178.00. The Chevy dealer where I live here in Wenatchee, Wash. wanted up to $300.

Thanks, Did that include the fluid as well?? I asked the GMC dealer where I bought my Sierra (and they sell/service the bigger GMC trucks as well) and they didn't think they could flush it.
