Will the factory side steps (running boards) fit a 2004 HD CC?

Not a big fan of running boards, but with the new tires/rims, this truck is a lil too tall for the wife and kid. LOL

Anybody got some pics of their trucks with a good looking, integrated, non-conspicuous running board?

Thanks

2004 Suburban running board is 89 inches long. Shaners might be right, the brackets could be a problem. There are 6 brackets not so evenly spaced down the length of the board. The brackets attach to the body at the crimped lip and the inside of the inner panel as shown in this photo.

Here is a photo of the factory running board.

The only thing I'm not crazy about the factory boards is that they are fairly narrow. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if it weren't for the way the rocker panel ends up in the way as you step up - more like a ladder than a stair step. Take a look at a Sequioa running board to see the difference in the width. And while they are textured, they can be a little slippery. But I think they look great and blend in with Suburban very well.

Hope this helps with your research. Post pics on the final outcome!

Hi,

Yes they will work, I have them on my truck (2004 2500HD CC 4x4).

The front 3 sets of holes are already there and threaded as needed.

The back three sets have to be drilled.

I ordered a set of running boards on ebay for 125.

The only thing I dont like is that they extend past the back of the cab to the front edge of the bed. Other than that they fit perfectly and look like they were designed to fit.
