I just thought I would stop in and say hi, here is my ride, 04 Silverado 2500 with HD suspension?!?! Kind of wierd, its a 2500 regular with HD ball joints, tie rod ends. (went through this big thing when I was putting the lift on...realized that the regular 2500 parts did not fit and could not figure out why...

Well the truck is a fully loaded LT, with XM, OnStar, Bose, heated leather, dual climate, and the works. I just picked it up in Sept 04 and already had the lift on by Nov.

and my other is a project 72 Chevy Suburban C/20 Custom Deluxe

It has been converted to a half ton, I installed leather tahoe seats out of a 97 Tahoe, 20" wheels, new 350 motor, new 350 trans, bagged in the front and I am currently waiting on getting the rear done.

Are you sure about the HD front end parts not fitting on the 2500(8600GVW). I have an 02 3/4 Ton(8600GVW) Suburban and I replaced my Upper and Lower Ball Joints with HD ball joints and they fit fine. The Front polyurethane control arm bushings that I have in my Suburban are also listed for the HD.I also went to the dealer and the part numbers of the upper and lower Ball Joints listed fit all Trucks 8600 GVW and above from 2001-2005. As far as I know the front ends including control arms are all the same in these vehicles as well. That is at least what I have been told and so far every HD listed part that I have used fits in my truck. I am going to check into Pitman and Idler arms,Tie Rod ends and the Centerlink next and see what happens with that search. I will let you know what I find. :smash:

I am 100% sure the regular 2500 lift parts do not fit my 2500. Although the 2500HD and the 2500 use the same control arms, they do not use the same ball joints and tie rod ends. From what I understand is if your tie rod end has a blue sleeve then you have HD suspension. If you have a black sleeve on your tie rod end then you have a 2500 suspension. Now the ball joints are interchangeable, you can put HD ball joins and tie rod ends on a non HD truck. But for some reason my non-HD truck has HD suspension, and I found that out the hard way. I ordered a fabtech spindle lift for a 04 2500 and when I attempted to install it the ball joints were too small for the opening in the spindle, and the tie rod end was too big for the opening. I called Fabtech and asked them what the deal was and he indicated that my blue tie rod sleeve indicated that I have HD parts on my truck and I should try the 2500HD spindle. Sure enough it fit, although it was kind of odd...
