Help with 6.2L Diesel

1984 C30 series truck. Won't start, glowplugs not coming on. We've already changed the glowplug controller/switch and glow plug relay, but still no go. What else can it be? Any diesel gurus out there?

This truck has been laid up for weeks, we need help!

[i had the sameprob wit my 86 but i just bypassed the contoler and put it on a button its much easier cause now i know its got direct power and ya good luck anyway

Hey, thanks for the reply!

That might be an idea at this point just to get it running. I guess you'd just have to be careful with a manual switch so you don't burn the plugs out.

Excellent point, I had a 91 3/4 ton Suburban witha 6.2 in it when the Glow plug controller went haywire and left the glow plugs on to long. To make a long story short: The #6 glow plug broke off, fell into the engine while it was running and I had to replace the Piston, Rod Bearing and have the 2 valves replaced and the Glow plug Chamber in the head repaired. It cost me $2700 to fix. This is why I would stay away from the manual glow plug thing and try and correct the problem to have it work the way it was designed.

ya a manual switch could b bad but unlikely as long as u dont hold the button for more then 7 seconds max and if u go for that make sure to put the button where it cannont easily b bumped
