You could check Scoggin Dickey or T-Byrne. Not fimiliar with a 496...is that the 8.1? Check out www.ls1tech.com, great performance info there, bunch of supercharged and turbo guys also (noticed your Whipple thread).

By the way, welcome aboard! Sorry I don't have more info for ya. :D

I was wondering if anyone has built short blocks for the 496's?  I would like to price one out.  I looked online last night quickly and did not come up with anything so I thought I would ask you guys on here.

What exactly are you looking to do? Do you have a 8.1/496 motor in your rig now or are you looking to put it in a rig? If so details on the rig?

Raylar has high performance parts for the 8.1. However, the stock short block can handle well over 500 hp. What the 8.1 needs is the Raylar aluminum heads, cam, and intake. The combo has been dynoed at 525hp, 650 ft lbs of torque. The only short block modification they recommend is pistons which eliminate the CSK of the stock ones. TByrne has these parts on his web site or you can go to
