I like may KNN. I do have a book put out by KNN that lists guaranteed increases. According to their book your 04 2500 will increase 13.83 HP @ 5054 RPMs for the reqular If its a 2500 HD it will increase it by 15HP @ 5179RPMs. Again this is Guaranteed. Im not sure if others Are stateing the increase you will get.

Alright guys and gals, you've done the basics for hp gains - as far as intakes go, who's is best, who's is quiet, and if it's quiet, does it perform too?  Do the cold air / ram air inductions do any good?

we have a K&n Cold Air On The Avalanche With The Keystone Ram Air Hood

its just say it makes a sweet noise almost sounding like a turbo... but isnt very loud... it improved are gas milage about 5-10 and added for 10-15 ponys.. we will be having it dyno'd soon...

I just got the Volant for my Duramax and it made a nice difference. A freind just got a Volant Kit for his 01 silverado 5.3L. He also got the optional Ram air scoop that fits behind the bumper, and draws air from the passanger tow hook opening. His system sounds crazy at WOT! I Hope they come out with a scoop kit for the Duramax! I think he got his kit for 350ish from carbuffsweb.com

I put a K&N FIPK on my 01 4.8L reg cab sierra, and I got noticeably better highway mileage, about 2 MPG better. This coincided with what I percieved to be also added top-end power. The city mileage was about +1 MPG.

Put on K&N FIPK on mine. Big waste of money, time and effort. Only noticeable difference is lots of noise from under the hood but no noticeable power increase and for sure no extra fuel economy. Too bad they dont have a money back guarantee because they would be getting it back.

I have the Mac perfomance intake it seems ok on my 04, but on the 02 big differance,

I have been told by more than a few people (Diablosport, Mac, K&N) that you need to disconect the battery for about 30mn to reset the PCM when you install one or you wont notice any difference.

I will see for myself I didn't notice anything and took it off, I just reinstalled it and disconected the battery, I will see today if I notice anything.
