clearing 35x14.50's on a z71

Recommended Posts

i have been looking into this for quite sometime now and have only seen many cases where people have installed 6 inch lifts on their nbs z71 and still had to trim with just 35x12.50's on 8 inch rims

i really like the wide tire look and was wondering what it would take to fit some 35x14.50(probably ss boggers or tsl's) on a nbs z71

i was thinking a 6 inch superlift with torsion bar adjustment but would it still rub on the inside of the fenderwell when turning?

also if anybody has any pics or advice on a set-up like this please let me know

thanks

Luke

Especially on a high school budget.

6" Fabtech w/ 3" body. Just make sure you get the fender skirts ...

Try going with a 7" CST lift kit..they say it clears a 35" tire

well im on a high school budget so i wasnt looking to spend more

than 1600 on a lift and from what i have heard cst lifts arent cheap

also would it work better on a 2000 2500(non-hd)

Many will argue that it cant be done. I have ran a Rancho lift with superlift blocks for about 2 years now and have cleard 315 on a 16x10 rim with no problems. My t-bars are crancked about an inch but I have no rubbing.

You are not going to clear 35x14.5 on a NBS with just 6" of lift.

The tires are just to wide to fit the fenders at that height.

A 35x12.5 can be fit on a 10" wide wheel fairly easy with some trimming and a little cranking.

Even with 7" of blocks in the back of my truck (not any more Springs) and the torsion bars set up to level with the back. I still had to cut my fenders to make 35x12.5's work .

I would pull sheet metal OFF the truck with 35x14.5's

well thats not good news but im glad you told me before

i bought everything and tryed it

how bad would a 6 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift look

with 35x14.5x16's? would that just leave way too much room inbetween the tires

and fenders?also can someone answer my driveshaft questions from a few replys up

You will only need a new front driveshaft if you have Autotrac and you get a "fulldrop" lift. Not a knuckle (spindle) lift.

If you have autotrac and got a Procomp (full 6"), Superlift, CST .. etc.

Not with Rancho, Fabtech RCD etc.

As far as look. I do not have any pictures on file of that combo. With just a 6" a 35x12.5 looks good with a 16x10 IMO.

Adding 3" and leaving the same size (tall) tires but going wider might look a little ''froggy". Hard to say because I cant say I have seen that combo on a NBS 4x4.

Go to cardomain in the silverado section and go threw some of those trucks that are lifted and see if you can find a good combo you like. Wish I had a pic to show you but I do not.

From Interco's site, the boggers are 35.2" tall while the TSL Radial's are 36" tall, not much difference. The TSL Radials are 14.3" wide with a tread width of only 11.5". While the Bogger's are 14.5" wide with a tread width of 12.5". Sorry I can't help with the lift questions. Just thought I'd help out with the size of tire issue. Chris
