02 gmc z71 5.3 Ive done exhaust intake and nelson 91-93 tune, a trans-go is next the engine really seems to wake up after 3k rpm. it will pull past 90 mph, best 0 to 60 has been around 7 sec

But I want off the line

1. what can I do without forced induction

2. Im not sold on shorty header gains seem negligable any suggestions

3. stock y pipe looks like s**t are there any aftermarket and will it make a difference?

4. I dont like the limited slip hard to stop wheel spin, is there abig difference with full posi track

this thing is a dog off the line  I want tire splitting torque

actually the stock y pipe flows well. if you start to remove cats and all you will only move the power band up more. and in test they show the stock cats doing well. gears will be a big help. put in that shift kit and servo's and do away with some more or all tqm. that will be a big difference.

What rear end gear ratio do you have now?

I'd say look into a lower rear end gear like a 3.90 or 4.10, and have the TM lowered as far as possible or removed (like 02 Denali said).

ive still got stock gears, dont want to raise rpms for highway driving and mpg. Ive been looking into stall converters and have decide to go with either a 2200 or 2400 I dont want to risk overheating the transmission does any body have experience with this what stall speed is good for everday driver without transmission cooler?

on a side note this week I took a roadtrip about 300 miles and for some reason it seems I have gained alot of hp and torque especially down low. I guess it has just taken the nelson tune time to adjust. I floored it through a yellow lite and broke both tires loose at 30 mph this tune keeps getting better as time goes on it improved shifts so much its not even funny I cant wait for the kit and new stall

Ive also gotten 22 mpg on the highway cruising between 70 and 80

i love this tune. 91-93

You may want to talk to Nelson again before you install a shift kit. I believe he'll want to adjust the programming to avoid "doubling up" on the shift effects.

after the shift kit and stall Im left with only larger mods to do. which would you choose. I want to build something that will last for years and miles.

1.) forced induction: considering supercharger or turbo; supercharger seems to be better fit for trucks, but there are more gains overall to be had with turbo

worried about blowing seals and wear on engine

2)rework cam and heads: probably wont add up to the potential of forced induction but will probably last longer and get better mpg

Ive only had the truck for two months so im not even considering 6.0 swap

which would yall choose
