Mobil 1?

I just switched over to M1,what is everyone doing for change intervals.

I was told you could go twice a long as you would with conventional oils.

Comments ?

I keep an eye on the oil level and appearance. Depending on how and where I've been driving, I might change it anywhere from 3500-5000.

I change it every 15000miles but not the oil filter. The filter I change every 3500miles and top it off plus the air filter I make sure it doesn't get too dirty. My dad has a 1986 Cadilac with 160k miles and has always used Mobile1. He changes the oil every 20k and he is not even missing 1/2 a qt at his oil changes.

I changed out to M 1 5W30 the first time my oil life indicatior came on, about 7.5k. So far I have changed the filter 2 times and topped it off when the indication has come on, again about 7.5k miles. Planning on going at lease another filter change which wil put me around 30k miles on the original fill. Testing has shown all withing spec and other reports have shown M1 going well over 30k miles with no breakdown. I have been using only ACD PF59 filters.

Guess I'm weird. I change it every 2000 miles in the 2500hd, and every 3000 in the grand am. The work truck runs dino oil every 5,000 with a TON of idle hours

In the "old days", 1978, Mobil 1 was advertised for 20,000 miles between changes, with filter changes every 6,000 miles. I know, I was there.

I have used Mobil 1 ever since, although my changes now are about every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. I still do the filter at 6,000.

Wow 20k thats amazing, I wonder why the dealer still recommends 3k for M1.

Obviously they want to sell you more.

I was hoping to go with the 6k interval, figuring it would justify paying double for the oil.

Also not having to get under the truck as much,although getting under the HD is pretty easy.

Did someone mention a M1 filter ? I dont know if that was here or if I understood it correctly.

I stayed with the ACDelco one from the dealer, and yes it was different than the one on the truck.

I called them before I installed and they confirmed that I did have the right filter.

I just switched to M1 Truck/SUV formula in my 2500HD with the Duramax. I'm thinking about going like 5-6K on it before changing it.

Mobile1 Oil is designed to last much longer than 5000 miles without breaking down. The damage is done when the oil gets dirty, keep it clean and no problems.

I run the 5w40 truck and suv mobil one in mine and change it every 3k miles or every 3 months, which ever one comes first. Alot of people do it differently. I'm sticking with the 3k, however, because I've never had a problem with the engine doing it like that and this is my baby...can't chance her getting injured.
