Dad's new pickup

Recommended Posts

Pics can be found here since Webshots won't allow me to IMG the pics to the board. :fume:

It's a 1975 GMC High Sierra with the ZZ4 GM Performance Crate 350 V8 backed by the TH400 3-speed auto, 4WD, true dual exhaust and 31x10.5" wheels & tires. 200k on the truck, and 60k on the dt.

Thats a rare find of a good body truck, was it already lifted? your dad has a cool looking truck  :fume:

I don't think it has any kind of lift on it, just the tire size. My brother is planning to put a set of 33" Bridgestone Dueler AT's (I think) on it when the old rubber is bald enough to replace.

Thats a rare find of a good body truck,

From what my dad found out, the front clip is '75, the cab is early 80s, and the bed is late 70's. So it fits the style of the 1973-1987 GM trucks just fine, but it's in yearly pieces. And if you look at the back pillar of the truck in Pic 6, you'll notice the BowTie in the tag. A GMC wearing a BowTie..... :fume: Oh, well. At least it's not a Blue Oval or a Ram head. :(

The body is immaculate too. Not a spot of rust or Bondo anywhere. The Gunmetal Gray paint looks like it's just primer, but it shines nicely for the age. Every panel is straight and tight fitting. As if it came right off the showroom floor. The interior is just as clean, with the only mishap being the headliner is starting to tear away from the roof. My brother is going to use color-matched Burgundy suede on the dash and headliner to take care of any other "problems".

I can't wait to get home for Thanksgiving to roll in it for a while. If they let me.:D

Yeah those years are interchangable and will fit the the truck, my old 77 chevy had rust building on the cab panels and it started to get worst during the years i had it, so i replaced it with a two wheel drive from an 80, made a hump cover for it and replaced the rusted one for that, probably the only difference i had was the wiring harness from the inside the cab to the outside. Wow i thought your dad had his truck lifted, it looked tall. 33's will look cool on it for sure
