Cold air intake

I need some advise, I have a cold air system on my 04 ECSB sivlerado LS 4.8 3.42's the computer has extrem TQM my problem is that I was told by GM that my cold air intake is moving to much air and making the comp go into a safety mode ( with no error code) major loss of power, went back to stock box w/K&N and much better.

This intake came off my 02 w/same set-up I could lite'em up from idle but this 04 maybe if the road is wet

did you just oil the filter before you installed it. what kind of filter system. how long was it on there. the comp will need a few days to relearn things.

norm oil, and the intake is a Mac Performance cold air with open cone filter and heat sheld, it was on for about 2 weeks with no noticeable power gain, it seemed to drop in power,

No, there is no way an intake will put it in "safety mode". The mafs will only flow as much air as the engine is asking for, no more.

(Unless you have a ram air setup and are driving over 100 mph)

 

Do you still have the screen in the mafs?

everything is stock eng wise, magnaflow muff, I guess this TQM is most of my problems,
