I've seen a lot of straight billet grill inserts/bolt-overs around and wanted something different. I had not seen anyone with the small hole style for the Chevy front that hints of a Denali grill.

This kit requires cutting out the factory grill insert. I was prepared to make this leap. But I was not prepared for the strange combination of pop rivets and the way the insert sat in front of the chrome grill frame. I was expecting the insert to sit behind the grill frame. The edges of the insert could scratch the chrome and I was worried that over time this would peel. So I decided not to install it after all and sent it back.

Other impressions:

- The workmanship of the insert and brackets was very good. Protective tape on the front surfaces was attached to prevent scratches in shipment. Brackets were mirror polish.

- Instructions started out with great detail, but then became a little vague. Almost like two different people wrote the instructions.
