2005 8100's

Did the 2005 8.1L's and the Duramax get the electric fans, or are they on the light duty trucks only?

I haven't seen for myself, but I understand that the electric fans are a 1/2 ton only deal, along with the "new" drum brakes.

its all over it just takes some looking for, but i doubt the heavy duty models have electric fans due to their towing capacity and heat outputs, a clutch fan would be ideal as the electric motors for the fans would wear out rather quickly in high heat situations which is what most of the heavy duty trucks are faced with

The one '05 2500HD we got with the 8.1 here does not have the electric fans,and the drum brakes are on certain half-ton models only.
