Torque Management

Recommended Posts

I was wondering i own a 04 2500HD with the LQ4 6.0 and the 4L80-E it also has the 4.10's in it. Oh, by the way the thing is completely stock. But the thing is the other day i decided to see if the truck would break the loose if i brake torqued it. And to my surprise it would not spin them at all untill i let off the brake with the gas to the floor i got a lil bit of a chirp when ever the truck launched. But it just rained pretty hard here and so i was out playing around on the wet streets and i mean this sucker would get wild on me. Wet streets and the locker in the rearend make for some serious fun. If i was going straight down the street at about 25mph and kick it, it would shift down into 2nd or 1st and then the thing would just start swaying left and right. But i can only get a squeek on dry pavement. I dont know whats up but if ya guys no anything, please give me some advice i just can't be having this crap. Thanks in advance guys

Are you planning on doing other mods later?? like cam, heads, and intake Headers

If you are wait and find good tuner near you, or get Ls1 edit and laptop and dive in( which has a big learning curve). Its about $80 round trip for "Free" updates for shipping cost that you pay. most times it take one or two updates to get dial in. after 5 or so updates you'll be close to cost of ls1edit. Not to mention that you will have wait couple weeks between updates, for core to be reviced, tuned, and sent out again. thought you should know. I wish I had.

I was noticing that you have swapped out the cam in your big block. Are these new style motors pretty much based on the same concept as the older style motors. I mean as in how they are assembled. Thanks in advance

These motors are a whole different ballgame.. But very very easy to work on!

Well thats cool I was also wondering since you have that ls1edit software. Is it pretty straight foward to tune these motors or is that software very difficult to figure out and should i just leave my tuning up to the professionals. Thanks

Edit is easy to use but it takes some time to get used to. HPTuners is a nice setup. Tuning and logging in the same package! Wish it was around when I got Edit. I would have gotten HPTuners.
