SLP Performance Pac for 4.8,5.3,6.0

Recommended Posts

I got the Sept. 04 Trailer Life and in the RV Marketplace I saw an ad for the new SLP Performance Pac for late model GAS powered 94-04 GM trucks with the 4.8,5.3,6.0. Adds up to 55hp and 55ft. lbs, also a 5% gain in mpg, improve acceleration and towing ability. Includes, Stainless steel cat back with tips, Stainless steel tubular headers, Low restriction cold air intake, higher ratio 1.85 rocker arms, PCM programer with custom tuning. I looked on slponline.com and didnt see it. So has anyone seen or installed this system? If so is it worth it? How much??

I think this might have been advertised before it actually became available (this happens alot). I'll see if they have any part numbers and pricing tomorrow. We've sold most of these parts seperate with good results.

SLP's headers are shorties. You should maybe look into some long tube headers. Alot more power to be had. The SLP headers are pretty expensive for being a shorty!

You should be able to feel a bit of a difference with the rockers. Engine will rev alot quicker and easier. You might get a slight lope because of the change in lift from the rockers. You may want to get some better springs too. Might run into a bit of valve float with the stockers.

Sorry, I forgot to reply back in this thread. SLP currently only offers this for 2003-'04 (6.0). Our price for the pack with uncoated headers is $2099.99. Add $150. for the package with coated headers. Most of the others are just over $2000. with the uncoated headers. They will be listed on our site this week.

The 1.85 rockers have been good for about 15-18hp. They have received alot of good reviews from magazine testing. The recommended packages come with springs so you won't have to worry about valve float.
