New Ride/Axle Ratio

Hi All,

Just picked up a new ride, 1976 C10 w/350 4bbl (LS9) and TH350. 100K original miles. It is in real good shape except for the valve seals (dried out while sitting up in a garage). Ugly color though, two tone Spring Green and White.

Anyway, my question is this. I have been unable to figure out the rear axle ratio- No code on service parts ID tag in glovebox, and I am unable to find any info on the net about the casting codes on GM truck 12 bolts (especially with this slow dial up connection) . The casting number cast into the pumpkin is 3896893 with a big "N" underneath. The numbers/letters stamped into the passenger side axle tube are as follows "KAA W 0401". Any one have a line on decipering axle codes?
