Wheels Lock-up?

I have a '99 Tahoe and when I have the wheels cranked either direction and try to move forward or in reverse the wheels bind up like the brakes are engaged. It seems to be okay with the wheels straight. Any Thoughts?

Sounds like you have it in 4wd??

The push button selector indicates that is in 2hi. Also the tires even seem to skid when they are cranked.

would it be possible to remove the fuse for the 4wd? Maybe that would free them up.

I have a '98 Yukon that does this same thing. I put 265/75s on in place of the stock 245s and they rub on the lower control arm when steering wheel is turned fully. They rub real good, so I wouldn't be surprised if stock tires rub too if you haven't put on slightly larger ones.

 

I'm just used to not turning the steering wheel all the way.
