Oil change reset

so i searched on this topic and found info for 2002 and back. is the procedure still the same to reset the oil change monitor(2004,key on, pump gas 3 times). i had it changed last time and the monitor was not reset so now i have 2500 miles on this oil and 0% life left....any help appreciated......

Should be the same procedure,turn key on and pump gas pedal a few times.

just for future reference. turning the key on and pressing the gas pedal 3 times is still the correct procedure to reset oil life to 100% on the 2004 silverado 2500 6.0 crew cab.

bayoujim, I was wondering what kind of fuel mileage you are getting on your 2500 6.0 truck. I am looking at a 2500 hd regular cab and don't know if I want the 6.0 or the Duramax 6.6. I have never had a diesel but the information from the dealer has me thinking maybe I should try one. I generally put a 100,000 miles on before I trade so maybe the cost different isn't so bad. Any information would sure help. Thanks stewcon

I've got the same 2500 pickup and get 13 - 14 mpg all the time...I've got just over 10,700 miles on it and it seems to do 13 in town and 14 on the highway (unloaded)...consistently.

I get 13 in town and 16 on the highway.

6.0 and the 5 speed, ext cab short box. i get 14 mpg.
