 I have seen a few people with the 1999 1500 4x4's (NBS) saying that they have a 2" body lift. (Exactly what i want!) But i cant seem to find them anywhere, only a 3" for my year truck? Any help/info would be nice, thanks! P.S. why is the smallest susp. lift a 4", does anyone make a 2-3" susp lift?

You can easily gain 2-3" from your stock suspension by cranking the torsion bars and adding either a larger block in the rear or an add a leaf. As for a 2" lift for pre 2003 models, you'll have to ask the owners of the 2" lifted truck. Why not just go with the 3" lift?

Beaner I think 2 " is perfect. I don't want to mess with the torsion bars. I don't want a stiffer ride. I found that Skyjacker makes a 2" suspension lift. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to get some more information.

I want it installed on my 00 Sierrra.

Be sure to post your findings here... I'm sure folks would be curious, especially those with existing 265 sized tires who don't want to go with 285s, etc. A 3" lift could possiby create, appearance-wise, the need for larger tires. I dunno... I'm still stock and don't want to mess with the torsion bars due to the aforementioned potential ride stiffness.

I contacted Rancho today. They said that their lift would be out in about November. It's going to actually be a 3" lift. Tech said it was going to go for about $800 and didn't have much more info on it.

i think that it is odd that rancho makes a kit for the new dodges that doesnt even have to have the front end cut on at all. i have put on superlift systems on the 99 and earlier classic chevys and one had to really cut out alot of things. not that the cutting is bad to me, but if i pay for the extended warranty and add a lift that requires cutting then they can balk on fixing anything. i am really disappointed at the ride height of my 04 z71. i cosidered a body lift but i have heard horror stories about sagging and warped bushings. also with a body lift you lose your tow hooks and i think that you would not be able to use a grille guard that bolted to the frame.

I just got an e-mail back from rancho asking them about the 3" lift and I guess they are not making such a thing.  They do have the 4" lifts but not what we were talking about.

***** BEWARE ********

Ranchos 4" kit really raises the truck up 6", I think it is a liability issue so they call it a 4" lift. I parked next to a guy with a 4" Rancho and next to my 6" RCD both trucks were about the same height. My local 4WD shop told me the same thing. If you guys are talking lifts why not just go 6" or even 8"... :D
