Recommended Posts

I need help on a 2002 3500 chevy express van . I am getting a serios radio interference. We use nextels and when i am in my truck with the engine off, it has a full signal. when i crank my truck, my signal goes way down and when the engine is at normal running speeds, i lose all signals. it just happened this week.

I also have noticed this on my cell phone and weak radio stations. Please help!!!

I can not talk hanging out of the window at 70 mph!!

Seems you have a car that is a RFI (Radio Frequency Interferance) hot box. For starters, try installing new 8mm plug wiring and make sure you are using resistor spark plugs as well even if they are not called for. Also, do you have your phone plugged into van wehn you have this problem? I have been a ham radio operator (not a CBer) for well over 30 years and used to run HF SSB out of my burb while traveling cross country and talk to fellow hams at home or in Europe while driven down the road. I can tell you some stories about eliminating RFI problems!!
