Gm Crate Engines and TBI ??

Recommended Posts

I am considering restoring my 1987 Chevy truck and I was wondering if it was possible to use tbi on some of the Gm crate engines the one that is a direct replacement for my year truck. It would be great if you could add TBI to 350Hp 350 cu. in. engine. If anyone has any info on this subject I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to the Forum :)

I have'nt done a swap like that myself but have thought about it in case my '95 blows its plant...I was talking to a friend of mine that said he did a swap like this for 1 of his customers,he said that the engine starved a little for fuel and was running lean cause stock TBI wasnt designed for the higher flow rate...But the options we were tossin around involved a Holley replacement TBI or even a stock 1 off of a big block 454 from a '94...but maybe some1 else can be of more help in this area.....

I have emailed a company called CFM Technology who specialize GM TBI and they say the proper throttle body, injectors and computer programming for both the 350-330hp and the 383ht crate engine. I am waiting to hear from them. I want to make sure I can do what I want before I START SPENDING A BUNCH OF MONEY.
