Me on my other Z.

You're a fellow ATVer, too, Wing?? I'm heavy into ATV's. I currently have a Lakota, but it runs a little bit different than any Lakota most people have seen. ;) I picked up an '04 Trailblazer for my wife and I got my son a 90cc. My riding buddies have a 400EX, Raptor, YFZ450, Mojave, Z250, 250EX, and a 400 Big Bear. I have a great deal of seat time on the EX, Rappy, and YFZ. (not to mention wrench time as well)

Interested to see we have quite a bit in common.

Nice Z!!! That would be my next bike, but I'm really leaning toward a V-Force. I think it's perfect for me. I get so tired of grabbing the clutch and shifting gears in very tight trails. :banghead: That's where we seem to spend most of our time.

Yeah I knew you rode, I saw you over at ATVconnection, and dropped you a note several months ago...But I guess you were done with whatever thread it was in.

I looked at the Vforce, but after I rode one....It's just too big and heavy for my riding style.

I would get the YFZ, but there is no reverse.

Grabbing the clutch??? Only when starting, or on hills. :D

I'm very happy with my Z. It isn't the fastest, but it's fast enough to hang with 99% of what else is out there.

I'm waiting to see if/when Suzuki steps up with a 450...If it's got reverse, I'll trade up.

Oh, and I ride with a guy with a Lakota, and he can flat smoke my a$$ on the tight trails. Those are great bikes....Of course, he's a better rider too, and that makes a big difference. :chevy:

You did?? Oh, man, sorry I must not have seen it. Sometimes when I don't have the email notification, I'll forget all about it. :banghead: What do you go by over there?

Yeah, I haven't ridden one yet, so that's yet to be determined. Unfortunately, just learned my wife has been laid off, yet again. So I won't be purchasing anything in the near future. But, I do like the idea of it. My Lakota is pretty heavy, too, so I think the V would be alright with me. BUT, it is quite a bit bigger.

That YFZ is fast as he!! (piped and jetted), but man is it uncomfortable. The seat is very narrow and has no padding in it. The suspension set-up is very stiff. For racing it's perfect, for trail riding it blows. IMO

Not to mention no reverse...

I think the Z is a great machine. Prob. my favorite. And, I agree it will hang with anything out there really. All dependant on rider. Put a 450 kit in it and it really makes them move from what I hear. I do believe you get to a point where too much power does come into play. You can not open up my buddies Raptor in the trails, not anywhere near. Nor the YFZ for that matter. If we had dunes or a lot of open riding areas it would be a different story.

Rumor is that the Suzi 450 will have reverse and we should learn something about it within the next year. Have to wait and see, I guess.

:D My buddies find that, too!! They can't believe that my little 300 keeps and outruns these big bores in the right situations. Then after the ride, they are beat to death. Cracks me up because the Lakota is just so plush, compared to those anyway. :chevy:

I'm all torn up about it. :chevy:

I go by "nukeim" over there, but I don't post hardly at all...Pretty much only in the Club news/events section....Our little ATV club has a post that's going on 62 pages now, probably 1/4 of those posts are mine. :D

For my Z400, I usually hang out over at Z400central.com. I'm Wingnut over there too.

Found another pic of me at takeoff on about a 50 foot table. Not something I would want to try on a Vforce.
