has anyone tried 325/50/20 on 2500HD

Recommended Posts

I am getting a Black 2500HD with a 496 and allison, and I wanted to know if anybody has tried to get some 325/50/20 under with no lift. I know they will fit because they are only 32.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide, I just want to know if I can get them under there without cranking on the bars. How much rubbing, if any would there be. Or maybe some 305/60/18. Thank you for all your time.

I do not think height is the issue, width may be and may cause rubing in turns. You need to raise and get tires lowers in "tubs" to try to maintain clearance.

Ditto on the height/width issue. Also the key to fitting wider/taller tires on the 2500HD's is rim backspacing of 5-5.5" you need to keep them tucked in or breakout the sawzall.

cudaboy - what load rating can you get in a tire that size? I take it you don't tow or carry any heavy loads. Are you going to keep the stock wheels and tires for the winter because those tires don't sound like they would be much good. Should look very cool though. :D

snoman - what do you mean by "get tires lowers in "tubs" to try to maintain clearance. " Thanks :D

Wise advise. I call the "tubs" the inner or inside wheel wells.

I was planning on keeping the stock rims and tires just in case I need to tow anything, but at the momment I have nothing to tow. I just love big blocks, thats why I'm not getting 1/2 with a 5.3 although they are a great motor. As far as the winter goes, I'm not to worried about it. I live in Alaska and have never used studs before, I know that those tires wont do much for winter driving but if it gets really bad up here I will just throw the stock rims and tires back on. Thank you all for your advise, I appritiate it.
