2005 2500HD

Recommended Posts

Real quick: I've heard that the HD's are different for 05. I'm looking at an 04, but would like to know if I wait a month or so that I could be able to get a different truck.

If they are changing them, how and do you know where I could get pictures?

Thanks

Yep, if you wait you will get a better deal. I always buy at the end of the year. You get a new truck much cheaper with no miles on it and it's almost a year old. It makes it look like less miles on it.

I have heard the Chevys are getting a new hood. I hope they do something about it to make the HD's look different than the 1500's.

As far as I have seen, besides the cosmetic nose-job and a different blue, the only changes are a moon-roof option later on in the year. I've not seen any spy shots or real pictures. They are also going back to drums in the rear. I've seen and heard the rear rotors and associated components have been problematic. In addition to going back to drums, they've worked with Bosch to shorten the braking distance and offering a firmer response on the brake pedal.

That is nice to hear about going back to drums in rear. Some may disagree but I like drums in the rear with hardware pretty much enclosed..

Oh ya those 13" drums about the size of a big flower pot on the 3/4-1 ton rear ends were real fun to remove.... I was very happy when I went from those monsters to rear discs

I love my "flower pots" . They are very dependable and work well even with a 4000lb payload.

just need a forklift to take off :D actaully I heard the drums are only for the non HD models as these will still keep the discs thankfully.

You think your's worked well, just imagine having them plus the 12"disc on the Dana 60 in the front on an 80 Blazer.
