Body Lift Complete - NO 4WD!

Recommended Posts

Finally installed the Body lift I have had for 3 months. Everything wwent great. So I thought. Tried to put it in 4WD today and nothing. The 4wd shift lever feels like it is not attached to anything. I guess that makes a little sense although there was nothing in the instructions about it, other than saying to test all gears, lights etc.

Anyone else had this problem? Suggestions are welcomed. I will try the tech support number tomorrow.

If you raised the body and the shifter is attached to the body, the linkage between it and the xfer case mounted in the frame which is now further away will not be correct. Something must be done with it to correct this. I would have though that the kit would have covered that issue.

Not sure what kit you have, but the P.A. kit I got didn't have anything for the floor mount linkage. On mine I didn't need it because mine is push button. I'm not sure if they sell two different kits. I don't seem to recall them asking if it was for the auto or manual. Maybe there is some sort of adjustment right on the linkage??

If the lift is P.A. then there service department is really good. I spoke to them before. Nice bunch of guys.

Manual linkage, loft hand side of Tcase you'll see a linkage. PA states to remove the bolt holding the linkage to the t case... Good luck!

There is a nylon clip in the base of the manual shift arm. On the end of the linkage to the t case you'll find a siwivle. spin it out turns and pop the pin back into the nylon clip.. you'll be fine.

While your down there grap a tie wrap and move your tcase breather up the front of the fire wall.
