AutoVentshade Ventvisor Deflectors

Recommended Posts

From the looks of your truck, Pete, I doubt the tape will pull the paint up since

your truck was clear-coated. To pull that stuff off, just let the tape warm up in the sun enough to get really warm and it'll pull off. In my experience, this will allow you to use your thumbnail to gently push/pull the tape around and it'll come right off. There are commercial adhesive removers that you can buy, but I doubt it's necessary.

Good luck!

How long have they been on?

I only ask because coincidentally...I took the ventshades off of the Blazer yesterday. It was a real PITA! I couldn't believe how hard that sh!t was to get off.

It was about 92 degrees out, and I did it in the sun. I don't think that helped.

Goo-Gone didn't help a whit, neither did Simple Green, or good old parts solvent.

Only thing that worked was a ton of elbow grease, a very careful razorblade, and about 1/2 can of B-12.

Took about an hour....I was ready to go buy new ones and just put them on over the old tape....But that's just wrong. :seeya:

Oh yeah, they had been on there since 96, and the passenger side one cracked in half...That's why I pulled them off.

Wingnut...they been on for two years. The reason for removing them was because the plastic is falling apart. On the drive side there is a gap between the foam and the deflector, and on the passenger side there couple of chips. Like I mention earlier...I'm just scared that the paint could peal off and also planning to replace them. Thank for replying with you comments.
