Average miles per hour

Recommended Posts

If you press and hold the trip meter guage/reset button with the key off, the number of hours on the drive train display.

I have about 950 hours on 36K miles .... ~39 miles per hour.

I bought my truck used so I don't know how the previous owner used it. I have no clue if that is high or low or what ... I thought it sounds low, but it might be a nifty comparison.

If you are bored, maybe a few of you could check yours and post up the average miles per hour your truck has and what kind of driving you do with it.

This truck has been my wifes daily driver since the day we bought it.The fastest speed limit in our town is 35 mph and the truck was rarely more than 5 miles from home when she had it.I have been driving it for the last couple weeks and the average mph has went up since I started putting my normal 175-200 miles a day on it.The truck also idles on job sites for 5-10 minutes at a time x 6-8 stops a day.I'm sure that kills my average.I read a similar thread on another board a while back and most people were in the high 30's for average mph.One guy was averaging 58 mph  and had something like 400,000 miles on a Duramax/Ally 3500 HD.He pulled 5 wheel trailers cross-country for a living.

I hed the odometer button down for about 15-20 seconds with the key off. It went odometer, hours, than all of this gibberish. It was like O.P. and a couple other abreviations followed by maybe a 4 digit number, which was then follwed by an AD. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, a little help on breaking this down would be appreciated.
