What the He!! is that nasty tick,tick,tick noise comming from my 2002 6 liter?

It won't go away like the CSK. Please help. GM Tech if your out there can you possibly shed light on this .

I have had the same noise on my 2001 since I got it. It sounds like the rocker arms moving. My neighbor has the same noise also. I don't know what it is or if it is supposed to be there. But I will be interested in finding out also.

Got a noise like that too. Seams like every bump in the road i hear it.. Anyone have an Idea.

I have that same noise and it is very common on the 6.0L. From what I have read about it, the noise is valve ticking caused by some tight clearances on the valve springs. These motors were built this way by GM for some reason or another. It is just the another wonderful noise to hear from your Chevy Truck engine along with the CSK.

I am running a little heavier weight motor oil and it helps some with the noise, but not a bunch. It does seem to be louder when the engine is cold though. As far as I know there is nothing to be done about it and the dealer will just tell you that it within spec and that it is common for these motors. GM was supposed to have corrected the CSK issues on the 04's, but I have no idea if they did anything about the valve ticking...
