Finally decided

Recommended Posts

:D Welp a few other wheel deals fell through. I'm probally going with AR 16x8 Polished Pythons. I had AR sliders on my old truck that were polished. I went 4x4'in nearly every weekend adn they got scratched up some. Never rusted or chipped...so that's why I'm sticking with polished.

With it being an 8" wheel, will a 285/75 still fit, with the torsion bars cranked up, or should I go with a 265?

The backspacing is 4.5"

Thanks!

MR2500HD,

It sounds like we're on the same track! I'm also looking at polished 16X8 wheels, but I haven't decided for sure on which make and model to go with.

I think I'm going to stick with 265/75/R16's though, because I drive on slick roads a lot and haven't had the best luck with wider tires on ice.

So, now I'm looking for some of these tires in Load Range E, preferably 10 ply, with an aggressive tread pattern.

Also, this way I shouldn't have to do any trimming to fit a 265. I'm not against trimming, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. A 32" tire should be plenty for me.

Look into the Nitto's. I put a set of 265/75/R16E's on my HD a couple of months ago. They are on the factory rims and they work great. The are an agressive looking tire I think. But there are quite a few other brands that carry a 265 E loadrange tire. Bridgestone, Cooper, Michelin, etc...

Checkout my sig for pics... :D
