The VaraRam King Cobra induction is coming soon!!

Recommended Posts

VRtruck.jpg

This system will be over 100% efficient compared to about 80% for some other systems.

The high pickup will located in the upper grill with a 3:1 multiplier.

Water trough system can drain up to 1 gallon of water every 30 seconds! This will allow you to drive your truck like a truck!

A 3 layer washable, reusable filter that allows flow of up to 1000cfm.

No drilling or cutting required for the install.

Designed to be used with the VR Velocity Stack.

This system is capable of building 1 pound of pressure at only 60 MPH.

This induction will be available as shown or with a ram air tube that will have cold air forced into it at speed. This will give it a pretty direct shot right into the filter. I'll have some more pictures and info soon!

Systems will be available for the 1996-'04 trucks and pricing will start at about $249. I'll have more info to post in the morning. They saw an 8 tenth improvement in the 0-60 times of their test truck. I see this system going on at least one of my trucks :wtf:

Here is some info that was sent over yesterday -

The cold air is producing over 1 full pound of manifold pressure and is generating MAF numbers that are well over 20% higher across the board.

1 VRTest mule 2000 5.3 /big tires extended cab 2wd no towing package

82deg 30.07Baro

0-60 mph stock = 10.44 sec (best)

0-60mph VR

cold air only = 9.86 sec ( worst) NO computer learn time

9.56- 9.68 sec after 40 miles or so

I'll see if they have anything planned for the D-Max. At least one of my 8.1 trucks will be using this system.

I've seen alot of people that don't own a Velocity Stack say that they weren't any good but haven't had any negative feedback from people that do own one. Someone on LS1Tech. He posted that he saw a 2 tenth improvement at the track with this mod. I thought that was alot but that's what he saw.

I've had one in my 8.1 HD since they have been released. Mileage has improved by a solid .7-.9 for each tank since it went in. I drive the same way in the same area all of the time and pretty much know what the MPG will be for each tank when I fill up without even doing the math so it has helped that a little. Throttle response has also increased. We've probably sold over 250 of these since they came out and haven't really had any negative feedback. I believe one person called to say that he didn't feel that I got much from it. It's only rated to add a few horsepower to the peak numbers.

The comments over at MCT seems to be mostly about how flimsy the thing is, and that it didn't do a thing for them (mileage, throttle response, etc). But you're saying you got a mileage increase over 1/2 mile per gallon? Today, that's nothing to sneeze at -- $1.85 a gallon for regular I may try one just to see if I can give a little less of my $$ to the middle east.

Getting back to the King Cobra, I am very suspect about claims like these. Why should this system flow better than a Volant with the ram air option, or a well designed 4" home made system with the air intake down low where the air is cooler than next to the radiator. The system doesn't even include a new tube to the throttle body, which has been proven to be one of the restrictions in the stock system.
