4" Rancho and rims

Recommended Posts

Ok, I need some help here. I've searched high and low everywhere reading about lift kits. Now, I found one...that's right, one little statement made about having to change the stock rims when I put on a Rancho 4" lift (RS6543).

Is this true? I want to keep my stock rims but I heard that Rancho requires a 4.5" backspacing? BTW, what is the backspacing on a stock rim for a 95 Z71 Reg cab sidestep?

Thanks.

Is your truck a 99+ NBS? Or a OBS? (you said something about 95)

If it is a NBS you DO have to get new wheels b/c of the spindles that rancho uses.

Im not sure about the OBS Rancho because it is a "fulldrop" kit so I would think you would be able to keep your wheels but I would just be taking a guess.

Thanks BigBubbaBD. It's a OBS. Now that I think of it, all the pictures I have seen were with new rims. I kinda like the stock rims and I have newer tires on them and would hate to have to get new rims.

Anyone else with comments?

Thanks.

Thanks BigBoy. I already have it printed out. What I'm looking for is written between the lines like......Reconnect brake lines using new hose supplied. That's great and all but HOW do you bleed them, what are the steps involved. Am I going to get stuck somewhere and then need a tow truck to send it somewhere to finish because I didn't have the "bleed releaseing valve tool (J-6723-12.562)" or can I get away with using an allen key?

Thanks.
