Overhead Console

My 1500 HD crew cab came with the small overhead console.

I recently purchased a long console off Ebay for a good price.

Has anyone made this conversion before? Looks like the roof

is contoured correctly but I would like some advice before I start

cutting headliners and such.

Do a search on these forums for overhead console install. Someone had the process outlined pretty well in pictures. I did the install as well. Pretty easy to do. I'll try to post a pic this afternoon. BTW does anyone have a part # for the wiring harness to the map lights? All I have is the 2 wire harness and for the map lights you need a 3 wire harness. Good luck with the install.

Worktruck, I have a quick question for you. When you took your short console out, was the headliner cut out for it or was it just pushed up against it. Reason I ask is that I want to install a short console in my truck that did not have one at all and wanted to know if I needed to cut it out. Thanks.
