track width question

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a "for sure" measurement on the front track width and rear track width on HD trucks(non daully)?

or know the difference in per side?

I'd like to purchase some rims to compensate for the difference, i.e. less backspacing in the rear than front.

thanks

I'm only a 1500HD but I'm pretty sure you 2500HD's are the same...

I don't have exact measurements, but I put 1-5/8" deep wheel spacers on the back of my 2500HD and they worked out great for me. Most wheel spacers manufacturers sell 2" deep spacers for these trucks for the rear. With the 2" spacers you don't have to trim the tips of the rear wheels studs to mount the spacers. I custom ordered the set for my truck. There is a link in my sig for it. Pics as well if you are interested. Wheel spacers are probably a better way to go than getting different wheels for the rear of your truck. That is if you want to be able to rotate your tires and such.

It may be different with the 1500HD's. In fact it probably is less. The 1500HD's don't run the same rear axle or IFS(4x4) as the 2500HD's and 3500's run if I am not mistaken. So it may be off less. Sorry about that. I was just trying to give you another option to look into....

no problem at all, I really appreciate the help.

I still think the 2500HD and 1500HD are the same in terms of track width...

the front diffs are the same AAM925

the rears are different though:

1500HD = AAM950

2500HD = AAM1050's and AAM1150's
