What tires for 2500 HD 4x4?

I agree that either of those will work if you want to go that big. They would look good. I just put 265's on my truck a few weeks back and I think the worked out just fine on the factory rims. I personally would not put anything bigger than a 265 on the factory 6.5" wide rims, but others have and seem to have no problems. Anything is better than the factory 245's though...

I put Nitto Tera Grapplers on my truck. They are the "E" load range 10 ply. A lot of tire companies make a 265 in and "E" load range. Checkout Bridgestone, Cooper Tires, Goodyear, Michelin, etc. I went with the Nittos because they were a good price at Discout Tire Company and they cover rotations and balancing for the life of the tire. I had heard good things about them and I like the agressive look they have. With a little bit of wheeling and dealing it was just under $600 out the door for 4 tires. Still need to get a spare.

I've got 285/75-16 BFG All Terrains on my HD2500 on 16 x 8 Eagle Alloys for the summertime. I plow snow in the winter so I switch over to 265/75-16 Michelin LTX and my stock rims. I love the set-up. The BFG's are quiet for an all terrain and they smooth the ride out a bit. On stock rims, the 285 will fit. For me, my Eagle Alloysare a little wider and I had to crank the torsion bars up about 4 turns on each side. This year I also threw in a set of Bilsteins while I had the tires off and WOW, I am a happy camper. I love the ride. I'll try to post before and after pictures when I get a chance...

How would 285's work on a 16X8 rim? I've cranked my torsion bars to gain 1 inch, but I don't want to have any rubbing of any kind when loaded or pulling a trailer. Also, I'd prefer to not do any trimming if that's possible.

You will have to trim the frnt air dam. Other than that, they work fine.

Thanks for the info. I'm also considering a Ranchhand full front bumper replacement with the grill guard, so I'm thinking that this setup (16X8 with 285's) will work well with no interference.

It looks to me like the Ranchhand gives a lot more room than the stock bumper/airdam. Is this true?
