Destination Charge and Advertising Cost

Recommended Posts

Okay here's the deal I've heard that the Advertising Cost is something that you can out of when you sit down with the dealer. But, whats the deal on this Destination charge of $850 on the 2500HD? I have heard both ways that some people get out of this charge and other say that you can't. So my questions:

1) Is the Destination Charge a cost that there is no way to negotiate yourself out of?

2) Is the Advertising Cost something that the dealer can take off without any problem?

Thanks guys.

both are rediculous "add on" charges and should be built in. Either way, in todays' market, you should be getting at least 15% off sticker and probably closer to 20% with all the incentives. If your a really good at haggling and they really need to sell....even more.

Heck, I got 20.25% off sticker on my C3 back in '01 before things got they way they are now.

These charges are actual cost to the dealer. The advertising charges vary by region so they are not included in the base invoice price of the vehicle. The transportation charges are the same for every dealer in the country. ALL new cars have the transportation charges. Some manufacturers include the advertising charges in the price of the vehicle to the dealer. Use the internet and negotiate the best price you can get. Buy from that dealer. Service it anywhere.
