Spray on liners & Tonneau covers

Recommended Posts

I am picking up a new 2500 HD this week and am trying to decide on a bedliner. I am leaning toward a spray on liner and would like to know about the suggested sequence of installation of a tonneau cover along with it. I eventually want one of those hard cover, 4 panel covers, but will the drilling of the holes for the mounting hardware in the future disrupt the integrity of the spray on liner (and void any warranty??) if I go ahead and have it sprayed on now.

Any comments about your experiences would be appreciated!!!

John

I`ve got Line-X over the rails and a soft tonneau. It`s likely that the hardware for your tonneau will clamp to the bed and shouldn`t hurt the liner but if not, I`d ask the folks installing the liner about it. In any case, they will probably have to remove the tonneau to spray the bed so I would get the liner first.

  • 2 weeks later...

I first had the Line-X over the rail spray done, then added a Snug Top tonneau a few weeks later. I've had no problems at all with drilling through the coating. I prefer to have the bed sprayed first then install the tonneau, that way if I ever decide to remove the tonneau, I won't have big, uncoated spots in the bed rails.
