First off, hello everyone.

I have a dumb question that has really been bothering me. So, I thought I'd ask the experts here at gm-trucks.com Ok, SAY for some reason, I have a newer Silverado, and lower it.Maybe It also has twenty-inchers on it. Would i be the dumbest guy alive if i wanted to tow with it? does the drop affect the towing?

I'm moving to florida in the near future and the girl wants me to tow her car down(with my truck). Possible? I now turn the question over to you guys. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :seeya::cheers:

Depends on the type of drop you are doing, how far your dropping it, what motor you have, what kind of car she has, how much her car and trailer combined would be, etc.

More likely than not, you are out of luck. Dropped trucks are usually good for up to two jetskis, and not much more.

Welcome to the forums by the way.

Well thanks!

I'm gonna be doing a slight drop, 2" at the most. I have the 5.3l and she drives a 2003 Eclipse, i think curb weight is around 3400lbs, maybe a little less. It sucks cause we don't wanna get a u-haul which will end up costing $1200 give or take. If i wait off on the drop, how do you think the truck will handle towing her car long distance? I've never pulled anything with this truck. My old silverado had a 350 in it but was a 4x4 and i only towed cars with it outta ditches in the winter, and she handled the job great. (not to mention pulling out a stuck F-150, once.)

It will pull it fine without the drop. If you put that much weight on there after you drop it, it won't like you very much for it.

I say wait until you get there...Then drop it.

That's my 02. anyway.
