Radix Question 4 Durkin

Recommended Posts

Durkin,

How is the noise from your Radix? Apparently s/c noise can be a problem, but Magnusson claims theirs is relatively quiet. Someone (somewhere) posted a video of their Yukon w/ Radix launching, and you could hear a whine, although I thought it sounded cool rather than annoying. Also, does it change the way your engine/exhaust sounds? Perhaps more of a throbbing sound (I'm guessing)?

Today I was talking to the dealer who sold me my truck, and mentioned that I was considering a Radix. He advised that I go for it, saying "Trucks today are the closest thing you can buy to the muscle cars of the 1960's". So I'm pretty much sold. :loser: Just have to save up the cash. One downer though is that I'll have to install it myself as there are no "certified installers" in WA State. :loser:

Anyway, take care and have fun.

Folks:

Iam with badbow1 on this!!

Definitely has a whine under power; virtually no noise under cruise. Neat sound at start; sounds great at idle with a Flowmaster 70 cat back and JBA headers. After I added the Comp Cams roller rockers which make a little noise somehow, now I know I have an engine in the truck at idle.

Regards,

Durkin :loser::loser::loser::mad:

PS: GMC_DUDE Go for it you will be a haqppy camper, I promise! If you are good with a wrench you can do it yourself; it has great instructions.

Thanks BADBOW1 and Durkin for your responses (and your patience with my incessant questions). I downloaded the instructions and read them, and the installation doesn't look too bad, mostly a zillion fairly easy steps. Right now it's just a matter of accumulating the funds, which I should be able to do by this summer if I exercise a bit of frugality. One advantage I do have is that I am single, so there is no "better half" to convince. :loser: Again thanks for your help.
