Drive shaft Clink

Recommended Posts

Like I said in another post "DIC Error" (my 4th last entry) I'm looking for things to go wrong, and finding them, well one more anyway.

I noticed to-day when I left work and put the truck in reverse I heard a clinking/tink noise was not a clunk. Tested it on the driveway when I got home, still clinking. Level ground both times. Truck is fine with other gears.

I have a 04-2500 Ext/Cab 6.0 Silverado, not sure on the tranny 4L60E I think.

Edit: 4x4 and clinking noise coming from the rear

I'm also thinking this might be somewaht minor, loose u-joints?

or...............this is where you people come in.

thanks

Well after a few days and the weather changing 5c to 17c every other day, I've noticed when putting into reverse this clink only seems to happen when the outside temperature is warm.

The clink is not loud but definitly noticeable.
