Tune Up on an '01 5.3L Silverado??????

I have an 01 Silverado Z71 with the 5.3L. I'd like to do a "tune-up" but I have a question for you tech guys. I've been told that the dealer service for a tune up is just replacing the spark plugs, as everything else is controled by the ECM. Is this true?

I would due plugs for sure but there is alot more to it.

All fluids - tranny, front and rear diffs, coolant

Fuel Filter

Clean throttle body

and a good look over on eveything - brakes, brake fluid, seals, hoses, etc.

Yep, I've already done all the above that was mentioned. Just thinking of what else might need to be done when changing the plugs.

ESPECIALLY that cabin filter...

I changed mine for the FIRST time this weekend (after about 4 years and 55k)

Got a lot of Helicopter Petals (those seeds off of maple trees I think).

Along with bunch of grass and crap, and the filters were black.

Changed them out and got a TON more air flow....

BTW, its a 7mm socket for the four screws holding the black cover on, and a 5.5 mm screw holding the filter cover "door".

Took me about 20 minutes doing it the first time (including going up and down the cellar stairs to get different sized sockets), I'll be doing this every 20 k from now on!!!
