code 42 on gm truck Help!!

Please Help going crazy over this trouble code 42

i have a 1989 gmc suburban 1500 350 tbi code 42 will not go away, i did an intake manifold gasket trk ran fine for three days, then died on us, had broken wire on pick up assm. installed new dist ( three different ones) trk started but had lack of power and code 42 on all ck all the usuall nothing good grounds power and all, found old style dist out of another gmc, installed power came back but still not all there and still code 42 replaced wires between dist module and ecm still same thing. Replaced ecm same thing. Rerouted all grounds same thing any help any direction would be great!! :loser:

I see you've been swapping distrubutors in and out. You did replace the module right?

 

The only causes for the 42 are, well other than the EST connector being unplugged...

 

Module

Pickup

Wiring

ECM

 

Assuming the module and pickup are good. Start jiggling some wiring and see if the rpm changes. Or you can find the ecm and smack the thing and see if the rpm changes.
