Need advice on towing mirrorw

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a 28 foot toy trailer. I obviously need tow mirrors as well. Does GM sell them? I currently have power closing and turn signal capabilites in my 04 and would like to keep those options if possible. Any thoughts.........?

Is there anyway to edit the topic line? I meant ADVICE not ADVISE......................................

None of the "Tow" mirrors will have the power fold feature, the GM factory tow mirrors have a power in & out feature but I have heard of a few problems with these (I really don't see the big deal with power in & out") but that's just me

I have had the GM factory (non power) on my 99, the Lucerix (Lucerix makes them for CIPA) on my 01, and the TTT mirrors on my 03, I really liked the TTT mirrors the best, lots of features, Power, heated, turn signals, and running lights, and most importainly they had the BEST field of view to see alongside my 8'6" wide \ 36' car hauler.

I recently sold my 03 and am selling my trailer, I have the TTT mirrors for sale, there's a post in the "For Sale" section, Here's the link

My dad has Cipa mirrors for his Durango, positively loves them for towing his 28' trailer. Won't need them on the Ram he just got (Dodge has some NICE towing mirrors). Dunno where they can be purchased, though he might have gotten them from Camping World. They ARE specific to the vehicle/mirror...

I was just going to comment that someone had some for sale in the for sale/wanted area, but Steve you're on top of it. Those look like nice mirrors, and if I had more cash handy and had a real need for them, I'd consider them. I towed the Wells Cargo enclosed today and found that for its size and my needs, the stocks on my 99 do pretty well.

I would recommend the CIPA slide on type mirrors. I've got them for my truck and they are quite nice. We pull a 26ft travel trailer (31 overall) and the mirrors provide plenty of extra sight. Slip right on and are specific to your mirrors. Good thing is they don't look like a cheesy add on, when installed the truck mirror and the CIPA look as if it's one package. I think I paid like $50 for mine. Doing a quick search on the net I found THIS site. The mirror in the foreground in the picture is what you would need. Part numbers are listed on their site as well. Good luck.

I had the cipa replacement towing mirrors on my last truck. I liked everything but not having a large convex mirror on the passenger side becomes a pain in commuting.

I currently have the power folding with dimming and perimeter lighting mirrors. I put on a set of the cipa slip-ons and left them on. From 5ft and further they look stock. :loser:
