315's w/ a 4 inch Rancho suspension lift

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I luckily found somebody to buy my tires for me. So, I want to put some 315 BFG all-terrain's. Will they fit? I have Ford keys in the truck right now and the 4 inch Rancho is getting put on tomorrow. I am running Mickey thompson classic II's and they are 16x8's. What do ya'll think? I need input quick so I can sell these and buy some tomorrow!!

The 4" Rancho fits 305's perfectly. If you put 315's under there you may have to start cutting. Regardless, if you do any 4 wheeling you may regret the 315's. My 6" Rancho even rubs with 315's - I repalced them with 305's

If you want it for looks - run the 315's with some cutting. If you hit the trails - go with 305's

The tires will work on those wheels, but the tire is pretty large for 4 inches of lift. Remember - what look do you want? A little space above the wheel or the largest tire possible crammed in the wheel well.

If you get the larger tire, that is more power loss (from gearing), more wear on steering and suspension components, and more cost.

I would get 285, 295, or 305 (and I have had all three).

You are making a lot of changes and decisions. Step back and look at what you want for the final result. What was the original objective?

Mule has a point, and I've noticed that you're second guessing alot of your original decision's. I thought you were going with 285's or 305's. 315's don't work well with the 4" Rancho. The risk of rubbing and power loss could make you regret the choice the minute you hit the highway (you'll need a steering stabilizer) or venture off onto the deer lease.
