Very Weird Noise from 2500HD

I have aprox 2000 miles on my 04 2500 HD. I have now been on two pretty good interstate trips to get to know the truck and have noticed something I have never seen or heard.

At about 70-75 miles per hour, I can hear crackling at the top of the windshield as if two components are rubbing. The sound kind of sounds like bugs hitting the windshield, and it comes from primarly the top left right where the windshield meets the roof line/headliner. I have looked around and everything looks fine. No cracks, no wind noise, no nothing. Anyone heard this one?

Had the same sound coming from mine this weekend. Only can be heard between 65 and 80 mph. But it sounds if mine is coming from the passenger side. Could this maybe be the bug shield problem some people have reported?

Yup...your right on. By adding the "bug deflector" you change the pattern of air flowing onto the windshield. The fix is easy. Take the truck to the dealer and have him either use 3M double back tape or a liquid sealer to "glue" the black vinyl strip surrounding the windshield. Or, you could do it yourself. Or, you could remove the bug deflector. Many of us have had this problem.

I dont have a bug shield on mine and still have this noise. I have found that it seems to be the plastic molding around the windshield wipers. Only on the drivers side though. I messed with it and found that it quit for a while. When it starts again I'm gonna 3M it down.
