What size wheels/tires with 4" suspension

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I am wanting to put on this 4" suspension but I really dont wanna buy new rims and tires if I can keep from it. Right now I am running Mickey Thompson classic II's 16x8's with BFG A/T's 285/75/16. Will this look funny? Should I go with a 305 or a 16x10. Need a little help, wanting to do this next week. :D

Hey guys,

I need a little more input. I have just put on a BRAND new set of 285/75/16 BFG A/T's on my 16x8 wheels. Are these gonna look goofy? I am scared that I am gonna have to drop some more $$$ on more tires. But, I dont 315's will fit will it? I dont want cut the sh%t out of my truck to make them either. Just need some more input.

They will look fine - 285's on 16x8 is a great setup. hope to see some pictures when it is complete.

You did the research, asked the questions, don't second-guess yourself. Here is 5 inches of lift with 285's on 16x8. You aren't calling my truck "goofy" now are you?

Just be sure you have the right wheel backspacing necessary for the lift suspension parts.

Along the same lines -- I have a question. The Rancho 4 inch kit says it will not accomodate a 16 inch wheel with more than 4.5 inch backspacing.

Does anyone know if it will accomodate a 16.5 ir 17 inch wheel with more than 4.5 inches backspacing? I'd rather not go wider AND further out for the good of the bearings etc. Is there such a wheel?

BTW a BFGATKO in 33x12.5x16.5 is $50 cheaper than same in 305/75/16

Thanks

Well, my Mickey Thompson wheels have a 4 7/16" backspacing. Does anybody know if this will be okay? I would think it would. It so close.
