Effects on fuel economy after a 6" with 35's

Recommended Posts

Just like the topic says,

We have 4 cars including an H2 adventure series, Jeep TJ, RX-8 and the 2500HD with a Duramax so we are paying OVER the top fuel prices anyway... I was just wandering, after a 6" Fabtech and running 35x12.5 MT/R's how much did the fuel economy get SMASHED? Because on my 1998 TJ with 33X12.5 MT/R's and a 4" Teraflex lift kit my fuel economy ate SH%T....but im also running 3.07 gears..hehe so that might be the reason...our 2500HD has the 3.73 gears in it....please gimme some info...

I lost 3 mpg on our Dmax with a 6" and 305's.

How can you get that Wrangler to move with 3.07's and 33's? I have 33's on our TJ and it has 3.73's - gets about 200 miles to a tank with the 4.0L, and 5th gear is rarley used unless the road is flat.

It works, but it takes a bit of a lets call it SPOOLING UP of power before the tires start rollin....and I no longer make use of this FIFTH gear you speak of haha...kinda disappeared....

My first thought is have you had your speedo reprogrammed for the 285s? I put my 285s on the day after I got my truck. Before my westers my speedo was about 7% off, and I'd average about 10MPG(which was really around 10.7). Now, with my westers and corrected speedo, I am averaging around 11.3ish in the city. I have also checked my speedo with GPS so I know its dead on. Also, I am going strictly off of my Computer in my truck for MPG.
