Oil Life Gauge

I just had my oil changed on my '04 DMAX/ALLY and the Oil Life gauge didn't reset itself to 100%. How can I fix that? Did the mechanic screw me and not do anything?

Well, I don't know if this will work for the dmax too (it works for the gas engines) but you might be able to reset it yourself. Turn your ignition to Run, but don't start the truck. While in the Run position fully depress the gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds or less. Then turn the ignition off. That should be it.

You have to reset it - - it doesn't reset itself. It only monitors the oil from 100% and down. The reset button is located at the bottom right on your steering wheel. It's the button that has an arrow that points down and then left. Go to the oil life % display and then reset it by holding the button for about 5 seconds.

I am glad they made resetting the oil life monitor easier on the new trucks with the DIC, cause it is a P.I.T.A sometimes on my truck where you have to push the gas pedal three times with the ignition on.....
