what intake do you prefer and why?

Recommended Posts

BOUGHT THE K&N FIPK FILTER AND INTAKE. THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS GREATLY REDUCED OVER STOCK FILTER. SWAPPED IN MY K&N DROP IN FILTER OUT OF MY 99' 2500 AND AND FELT A BOOST OVER BOTH FILTERS. I ALSO "PORTED" THE SHEET METAL AROUND MY STOCK INTAKE BOX AND FELT THAT THE ENGINE BREATHED A LITTLE BETTER. I CAN DEFINITELY THINK OF A BETTER WAY TO SPEND $300.00.

I installed the AFE Magnum on my 8.1 and dynoed the results. Increased rear wheel horsepower by 11 and RWT by 8 lb ft over the stock setup. These are rear wheel number so the increase at the crank is more. You can read my post in High performance. I had to create my own intake tube but it works.

I did the K&N FIPK Generation II and felt a difference especially after I put on the flowmaster exhaust. If you can actually feel a difference, it is well worth doing! No real noticeable difference in mileage, but I get awful mileage so i dont calculate it very well. The intake also made my truck sound meaner, and thats worth it to me!!

I just put a k&nFIPK kit on tonight and it made alot of difference, i can feel alot more pulling power and it gave the motor a different sound, plus i like the sound of the air being sucked in, it sounds like a supercharger. My opinion is it made a difference.
