That's a good-looking .45.

I really like the looks of those grips-looks like it really makes the gun more controllable. They are the Kimber grips or aftermarket?

Enjoy it!

Its a Hogue FingerMold grip. It makes it feel really nice. It was worth the $20 bucks.

Welcome to the 1911 Auto Club. I am a junkie for 1911's. Congrats. I took of my Hogues like you have there, and put on a set of Wilson Combat slim panels and had the frontstrap checkered at 30 lpi, and a checkered mainspring housing...tasty. My daily CCW weapon is my Springfield Ultra Compact, parkerized, with Novaks tritium night sites, slim panels, snuggled into a Milt Sparks Versa Max II

1911's for life

I really love this gun... I just wish Kansas would wake up and give the official OK on conceal and carry!!!! Im thinking about ditching the grip and putting the stockers back on. Then get a mag bumper and a Kimber mag well. My friend has a Tactical Custom II. It has the mag bumper and tapered mag well, makes it alot easier to put the mag in. But I am a big 1911 fan now!!!!

99Silver, seriously, head to www.wilsoncombat.com and look at their magazines, you will not find a better made mag anywhere. bumpstops, thick and thin, simply the best mags on the market. If you really want to give your Kimber the treatment, have them put on one of their magwells, and Armor Kote the entire weapon. Their Armor Tuff/Kote is like nothing else, and you would be impressed, if you have seen one, you know what I am talking about. And their thin panels really are awesome. Check www.packing.org to see what states your home state will honor for CCW, then get a non resident permit, and carry at home. I can legally carry in 21 states now.

Not a bad looking handgun. I personally like Glocks because they seem to fit my hands better, but I'm sure that somewhere down the line I will own a 1911. Hopefully I will have my first 45 by the end of the week (Glock 21). I'm getting a good deal, the gun has only had about 150 rds fired through it, and about 50 of them were by me. Just got to get my buddy to hand it over. LOL

Unfortunately, I don't see the CC bill getting passed. Sounds like the governor is going to veto the bill no matter what happens.
