In the channel or over the window "ventshades"?

Recommended Posts

I have the Weathertech visors on my 2000 ext-cab and love them. They fit into the felt channel where the glass slides. They hug the body a little closer than Vent Visors and you don't have to stick them on with double-sided tape. They are a great addition. I also have VentVisors on my '93 Silverado. They are a quality product but I just don't like sticking something to the paint. Hope that helps you decide.

I have the same ones and the best part I found is when I got a new truck I removed them and installed them easily. I don't care for using double sided tape.

Same here. They work perfectly, you don't have to eye-ball them to make sure they are straight, and there is no issue with any tape since there ain't any. And, as mentioned earlier, you can easily transfer them from vehicle to same design vehicle.

I have the WeatherTech in channels on the 03 and the Vent Visor stick ons on the 94. Go with the WeatherTechs, I know I am about to go with another set to replace the 94's.

I've had a negative experience with the in the channel kind. I had some on a '98 Explorer I previously owned, purchased through the dealer, and every 6 months or so over a 4 year period various windows would get knocked out of alignment. The windows would literally be crooked in the channel and not roll up. The top part of the window that would normally be at a 180 degree angle would be at a 165-170 degree angle. The first time I took it to the dealer over it they told me the vent visors were the reason the windows were getting knocked out of alignment and the service advisor tried to charge me to fix it. I walked into the showroom to the accessory salesman that sold me the vent visors and told him what was going on and they dropped the charges, made me glad I paid the extra money and got the vent visors through the dealer. So here's at least one person that will never get the in channel kind unless I get them through the dealer and they are willing to fix them for as long as I own the vehicle.

I have the ventshade stick on kind. I love them. I didnt like the weathertechs since they have a piece that goes all the way to the bottom of the window. I like the ventshades that terminate where the window starts to curve down (If this makes sense?

Not real sure of who made the one's I got from Performance Products. they say they were made for them. Kind of turned off by them going all the way down the window but I've gotten over it. As some of the others mentioned the ones I have hug the side of the truck so they don't stick out like air foils. Only real complaint left is that on from time to time the window and visor rub together and squeal a little, just for a second though. Overall I'm very pleased!

Well, I'm a little confused now. Some of you have mentioned something about the in channel models "going all the way down the window". Aren't they simlar to the over the channel model in that they start at the mirror and extend up and along the top of the window? Just clarifying. Thanks for all your comments.
